April 7, 2007 – CenturyTel Center, Bossier City, Louisiana

The Fusion played Bossier-Shreveport in the second game of the season. I expected to see a classic city from the South, but inside found the dirty South. It was hardly an impressive city. The river and casinos, that was Shreveport.

I traveled on my own, opting to take a long-weekend trek from Indiana through Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, briefly Texas and Louisiana.

The opponent was the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings. An arena2 football team that paid homage to locals at Barksdale Air Force Base.

I do recall getting a speeding ticket in southern Illinois, nearly Marion. Surprisingly when I went to pay it, it was already paid. I think the points are still attached to my record.

The arena has since been renamed the CenturyLink Center.
